We welcome comments from our web site visitors to enable us to maintain up-to-date improvements and information for the site.
The WIRE FOX TERRIER ASSOCIATION was founded in 1913 to further and protect the interests of wire haired fox terriers.
Its principal aims and objectives are:-
(a) to procure fair classification at shows for wires
(b) to procure, at all shows of importance, bona fide wire judges to adjudicate on the breed
The Association holds a CHAMPIONSHIP SHOW and an OPEN SHOW each year exclusively for wires and every facility is afforded the smaller exhibitor to compete for a generous range of prizes. Seminars and fun events are also held.
The Association has a representative committee the members of which are democratically elected by the membership at the Annual General Meeting.
There are historical trophies to be won, the total value of which runs into thousands of pounds. Every member receives a copy of the Association's Year Book which contains the Rules, Reports, List of Members, Description of Points, details of the various Trophies, a Breeder's Handy Calculator, winners at all Championship Shows, etc., and other information of interest to wire fanciers. The book is circulated to its members all over the world. Advertisements of breeders are also included.
